Japan gives $400 million for the restoration of Ukraine

Yesterday, April 14, a Grant Agreement was signed, according to which Japan will allocate $400 million to Ukraine. The document was signed by Vice Prime Minister for the Reconstruction of Ukraine Oleksandr Kubrakov and Senior Deputy Director General of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) Hideya Kobayashi. This is already the second grant agreement signed with JICA. The proceeds of this grant will be used for humanitarian demining equipment, transport and energy services, water supply, medical equipment, etc..



In addition, the Government of Japan will allocate $70 million in grant support for the reconstruction of Ukraine through the mechanism of the UN Development Program. In general, since the beginning of the year, an agreement has been reached between Ukraine and Japan to allocate more than $600 million for the restoration of Ukraine.
