The Ukrainian Security Service has documented the purchase of low-quality spare parts for the needs of Ukrzaliznytsia for more than 100 million hryvnias, which posed a threat to the stable functioning of rail transport, the SBU press center reports.

Special services operatives found that the deal was organized by representatives of commercial structures with the " Due to the high level of depreciation of the rolling stock and the lack of money for updating fixed assets, the attackers arranged for the supply of spare parts and equipment of inadequate quality. Products, in particular, did not meet established specifications, were with obvious signs of former use. According to investigators, some of the spare parts were made in a handicraft way, some were stolen at domestic enterprises in the railway industry.
According to experts, the operation of such equipment on the rolling stock of Ukrzaliznytsia led to its system failure, emergencies and traffic interruptions.
