Three Russian border guards illegally crossed the border with Estonia. This was reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Estonia.
The Russians crossed the control line on foot on a breakwater in the border river Narva near the village of Vasknarva, where they arrived by hovercraft. After this, the violators returned back to Russian territory.
The Estonian government released a video confirming the incident.
According to open source GeoInsider, the Russians were on the pier for almost 20 minutes before returning back.
Estonian Interior Minister Igor Taro noted in comments to local media that the motives of the Russian border guards and the reason for crossing the control line are not yet very clear.
“There was no immediate threat to security, but the police and border guards have significantly increased their presence and patrols,” the official emphasized.
Estonia announced a summons to the Charge d'Affaires of the Russian Embassy in Tallinn and demanded clarification on this incident.

Russian border guards crossed the Estonian border Let us recall that in October the Estonian Police and Border Guard Directorate temporarily closed the section of the road from Varski to Zaatse, which passes through Russian territory. The reason for this was that on Friday evening, October 11, border guards noticed the movement of a larger than usual unit from the Russian side.
