The 47th president after a conversation with Putin and a meeting with Zelensky: it’s time to make a deal, let both declare victory. * It seems that everyone has already commented on the meeting between Trump and Zelensky in combination with the conversation between Trump and Putin.

Here's what I think you should pay attention to:.

The 47th president will always cling to any straw so as not to introduce any new sanctions against Russia and not provide new military assistance to Ukraine (the purchase of American weapons by European countries for transfer to Ukraine cannot be called American assistance - this is assistance from European countries with the consent of the United States).

He can say as much as he wants that he is “disappointed in Putin,” that he “doesn’t like it” when Russia launches another missile attack on Ukraine, that he “almost made a decision” about Tomahawks, but when the KGB major of the USSR feels that his ward in the White House is becoming too emotional in his statements, his aides inform the White House that he wants to talk to the US President. This is followed by a call and conversation.. And for the second time even an invitation to meet. And the 47th president’s mood immediately changes, he begins to talk about “business projects” with Russia and about “Trade” with it (Trump writes this word with a capital letter, the quotation marks mean that this is a quote), and that he believes that “President Putin wants peace”.

This can be repeated ad infinitum.

Simply because for Donald Trump the Russian dictator is a model and idol, his dream of his own authoritarian power is associated with Putin. He may be offended by Putin when he does not pay attention to him and does not react to his words. But as soon as Putin connects with the White House (in this case it is important that the initiative comes from Putin), and also invites its occupant to a meeting, and all the grievances will be gone.

The 47th president does not know the wisdom of Soviet political prisoners about how to communicate with security officers: “Don’t believe, don’t be afraid, don’t ask.”. And therefore, the 47th president methodically violates all three parts of this wise commandment - he believes, fears and asks. But even if he had heard about this wisdom, he would hardly have understood what it was about.

What does the 47th president even understand about what is happening in the world if, after a meeting with Vladimir Zelensky, he published a tweet (October 17, 16:46 East Coast time):.

“The meeting with the President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky was very interesting and cordial, but I told him, as I strongly recommended to President Putin, that it is time to stop the killing and make a DEAL! Enough blood has been spilled, the boundaries of property are determined by War and Willpower. They should stop where they are. Let both declare Victory, let History judge! No more shooting, no more Deaths, no more huge and unaffordable spending.. This War would never have started if I were President.. Thousands of people are dying every week - ENOUGH IS ENOUGH, GO HOME TO YOUR FAMILIES IN PEACE!

You may ask, what about international law, and how can one fail to distinguish between the aggressor and the victim of aggression These are rhetorical questions in relation to the 47th president. In his coordinate system, where everything is determined by “transactions”, “you give me, I give you” everything is possible. And a deal with the devil is as common for him as a deal to build some next tower in his name for someone else’s money, part of which he should receive for using his name. He simply cannot think in other categories.

Just as he can’t stop repeating that there wouldn’t be this, that, the fifth, the tenth in the world at all if he were president. Here you don’t need to be a psychiatrist to understand that at the subconscious level he would like to be in power forever, and as a justification for his eternal power, his subconscious generates this meme.

And about two aspects of the real state of affairs.

It is clear that he did not intend to transfer any Tomahawks to Ukraine. And he talked about them in order to provoke Putin’s reaction in the form of a call (and then there was a proposal for a meeting). Technically, the transfer of Tomahawks does not seem real today, since today there are only two Typhoon ground batteries to launch them. They are produced, this is a complex production that began only in 2024, it takes time. But until there are enough of them, it is difficult to imagine that the United States will export them.

There are, however, other missiles, the AGM-158 JASSM, that can be launched from F-16 aircraft, and which Ukraine has been asking the United States since the first F-16s appeared in service with the Ukrainian Air Force. The appearance of these missiles in Ukraine is much more realistic, but not at a time when the 47th president is under the impression of Putin’s call and is waiting for a possible quick meeting.

And hence the second aspect. Will the meeting take place in Budapest Of course, Trump would really like it to happen. But, apparently, taught by the experience of the failed and shameful meeting for him and for the United States in Anchorage, this time the 47th president agreed that before his meeting with Putin there would be a meeting between Secretary of State Rubio and Lavrov and some other American representatives with representatives of the evil empire. It follows that Trump this time was convinced that another failed meeting would reflect poorly on how he appears in the eyes of world leaders. That he needs to be a winner. And for this you need to find out whether Putin will agree to a ceasefire before going to Budapest to meet with him.

The Washington Post, citing its sources from the White House, reports that during the last telephone conversation with Trump, Putin demanded Ukraine's withdrawal from the Donetsk region in exchange for a ceasefire.. That is, he demanded something that was completely unacceptable for Ukraine. Whether Trump can pressure Ukraine to accept such terms depends in no small part on the position of European leaders.

Therefore, whether a meeting between Trump and Putin will take place in Budapest depends both on what his secretary of state brings to the 47th president from his meeting with Lavrov, and on the position of European leaders, since their opposition to pressure on Ukraine may be a significant factor that Trump may take into account. Let us remember what pressure the 47th president tried to exert on Ukraine at the end of January - February - early March, while simultaneously offering various preferences to Putin. And was forced to retreat. And because Putin is not interested in the recognition of Crimea as Russian, the lifting of sanctions, and “business projects” in comparison with his goal of destroying Ukraine and restoring the empire. But also because European leaders then firmly supported Ukraine.
