The European Commission will not comment on the veto President of Poland Karol Navrotsky to the law for helping Ukrainian refugees. This was stated by the representative of the European Commission Marcus Lammert, reports "
" In general, according to the directive of temporary protection, the EU member state should provide the persons who use it, the necessary assistance in the field of social security, medical care and livelihood if they themselves do not have sufficient resources, ”said Lammert.
He noted that the directive of temporary protection does not provide for a certain amount or the minimum threshold of social assistance for refugees from Ukraine. Each state, they say, itself determines the amount of these payments. At the same time, according to the representative of the European Commission, Brussels also provides financing to European countries to help Ukrainians.

" Recently, we have published a decision to provide another 3 billion euros for member states that accept Ukrainian refugees, ”added Lammert.
It was reported that Polish President Karol Navrotsky told reporters that he had not signed the law for assistance to Ukrainian citizens.
He also added that the government bill retained the current provisions, namely the right of Ukrainians to use payments regardless of employment in Poland.
According to Navrotsky, all participants in the discussion noted that assistance should be provided only by Ukrainian citizens who are obliged to work. According to the Department of Poland Foreigners, 993 thousand Ukrainians use temporary protection in Poland, mainly women and children. Another 462 thousand. have existing temporary residence permits, mainly for labor reasons.
