The world is now on the threshold of the Third World War. And it can repeat the mistakes of the past, when attempts to appease the aggressor - the conclusion of the Munich agreement in 1938 - became a trigger for the beginning of the bloody war in history - the Second World War.
That is why now it is more important than ever to recall the story and prevent its repetition. This statement was made by Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk.
Policy participating in the Munich Security Conference, in the network X warned the world against repetition of errors of the past. He hinted that the US current attempts to agree with the aggressor Russia country at the expense of the interests and territorial integrity of Ukraine echoing with a shameful page in the history of the democratic world: the signing of the Munich Agreement, which Britain and France actually agreed to the occupation of Nazi Germany.

Recall that the Munich Agreement (or, as it was also called - the Munich conspiracy) was concluded in Munich on September 30, 1938. The agreement was signed by the then Prime Minister of Britain Neville Chamberlain and Prime Minister of the French Republic Eduar Daladier on the one hand and Rykhskanzler of the Third Raich Adolf Hitler and the Prime Minister of the kingdom of Italy Benito Musolini-on the other.
The consequence of the agreement was the actual dismemberment of Czechoslovakia when Hitler received the Sudeten region, and with it the Czech military plants and significant weapons of the former Czechoslovak army, which allowed to arm 9 infantry divisions. Poland and Hungary were also satisfied with their territorial claims at the expense of the lands of Czechoslovakia.
Then, in 1938, a significant part of Europe rejoiced at the Munich agreement, as it considered it a way to prevent a large war on the continent. At the time of signing, Hitler claimed that the Sudeters are his last territorial claim.
However, further events showed that attempts to appease the aggressor were in vain and only licked his appetites.
