Serbia President Aleksandar Vuchich fulfilled one of the key requirements of protests. He signed a decree on the pardon of 13 people who took part in anti -government protests, were detained and accused of criminal offenses.

The corresponding document was published on the website of the President of Serbia on Wednesday, January 29. It is noted that the decision was transferred to the Ministry of Justice of Serbia for further consideration.

Before this, the pardon commission approved the pardon of 13 protesters, and Wucic signed a decree.

We are talking about six students, associate professor and dean of the university, school employee and four school principals.

It should be noted that students and teachers were detained during the protests who broke out in the country in November 2024 after the collapse of a concrete canopy at the railway station in the city of a new garden, which took the lives of 15 people.. People claim that corruption, consumption and poor -quality construction work led to the tragedy. They require the speedy prosecution of the perpetrators and the resignation of Vuchich.

The release of the detainees was one of the key requirements of protesters along with the publication of all documents regarding the reconstruction of the station, and criminal prosecution of officials responsible for the disaster.

Experts argue that Vuchievich’s resignation is Vuchich's attempt to stay in power. Pro-Russian nationalist Vuchich has already announced an attempt to “hold a color revolution” in the country, which is why he called for personnel changes in the government.
