Will the Supreme Leader of Iran Ali Khamenei agree to nuclear negotiations with President Trump? Khamenei may be willing to compromise on his nuclear aspirations in exchange for easing U.S. sanctions. In the end, he has already made Iran a nuclear state, note correspondents of The Wall Street Journal.

The bigger question: If Trump agrees to nuclear talks with Iran, how will he approach them Will he decisively deny Iran the ability to enrich uranium and maintain deeply hidden centrifuges and ballistic missiles capable of carrying nuclear weapons Will he insist on everything that Barack Obama should have demanded, but did not do this when he approved the nuclear agreement with Iran in 2015?

Whatever path Trump takes, if he does not link nuclear negotiations to Iran's regional behavior, he will end up in the same situation as Obama: any sanctions relief will fund Tehran's malign activities, including supplying weapons to regional terrorist groups that have killed Americans.

The newspaper also believes that Obama's nuclear negotiations with Tehran never made sense if Washington was not ready to bomb Iran's nuclear facilities if the clerical regime refused American demands. Without obligatory red lines, Tehran has an insurmountable advantage. Every time the United States is inferior to Iran, diplomacy turns into blackmail.

In October, Trump said he favored Israel striking Iran's nuclear facilities.. If we assume that diplomacy will not lead to anything, Trump probably will have to support Israel in military terms in order to maximize the destructive power of the blow.

“He may decide to provide Israel with a 30,000-pound penetrating weapon of mass destruction, which would require a B-2 bomber or perhaps a B-52 to deliver, which is powerful enough to destroy Iran’s underground fuel enrichment plant at Fordow,”.

Since any Israeli attack on Iranian nuclear facilities can provoke Iranian attacks on the oil deposits of the Persian Gulf, Washington may also soon face the risk that the Arab Gulf countries will completely come out of the US subordination.

Recall that Iran opened a new underground naval base on the eve of Trump's inauguration.. According to the Iranian media, the base was built at a depth of 500 meters somewhere in the Persian Gulf.
