Analysts at the Institute for the Study of War (ISW) say that the deployment of a new contingent of North Korean troops in Russia will maintain the current pace of infantry attacks in the Kursk region. . . .

The New York Times reported on January 22 that a senior US defense official said additional North Korean troops would arrive within the next two months, or until mid-March 2025.. .

On December 23, the South Korean Joint Chiefs of Staff said that the DPRK may be preparing to send additional troops and military equipment to Russia, either as part of a rotation or to strengthen current forces. . .

According to ISW, before being sent to the Kursk region, North Korean troops trained for at least a month in eastern Russia, starting in November 2024, before beginning hostilities in December. . .

Despite the updated personnel, ISW analysts believe that the North Korean military is unlikely to be able to significantly influence the effectiveness of Russian operations. . . .

Let us remind you that the losses of the Russian Federation in the war exceeded 825 thousand soldiers. . 02. 22 to 23. 01. 25 approximately amounted to about 825,320 people.
