Chinese leader Xi Jinping held a video call with Russian dictator Vladimir Putin. This became known on Tuesday, January 21.

According to the Kremlin press service, Xi and Putin discussed the development of the Russian-Chinese partnership and “strategic interaction”.

" We jointly advocate for building a more equitable multipolar world order, we are working in the interests of ensuring indivisible security in the Eurasian space and in the world as a whole,” Putin said and added that the joint work of Russia and China “objectively plays an important stabilizing role in international affairs.”.

In turn, Xi Jinping announced his readiness to take relations with the Russian Federation to new heights in 2025.

“In the new year, I am ready, together with you, to take Russian-Chinese relations to a new height, to confront external uncertainty on the basis of maintaining the stability and stress-resistance of Chinese-Russian relations,” he said.

Earlier it became known that in 2024 China bought a record amount of oil from Russia. Delivery volumes amounted to 108.5 million metric tons, which corresponds to 2.17 million? barrels per day.
