American blogger and podcaster Lex Friedman, who was interviewed by Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky, criticized the guarantor for his statements about Russian dictator Vladimir Putin. In his opinion, such a position of the guarantor “will not contribute to the achievement of a peace agreement”.
Friedman said this at the end of his podcast with American historian Jennifer Burns. He said that the Ukrainian president spoke about Putin “quite rudely” and his position is “extremely incomprehensible”.
The podcaster noted that he gave Zelensky a chance to demonstrate his readiness to negotiate, knowing that both Trump and Putin would listen to this conversation.
" This is understandable, but not productive for negotiations. Disrespect, although strong, can damage negotiations,” says the blogger.
In his opinion, Zelensky should have treated Putin with the seriousness with which he expects him to treat himself.
Friedman also said that now is perhaps the best time to achieve peace, and it was for this reason that he interviewed Donald Trump and Vladimir Zelensky. He also intends to communicate with Russian leader Putin.
" The risks are not important to me, I just want to make my small contribution to achieving peace at a time when it can actually be achieved,” Friedman said.
Let us recall that President Vladimir Zelensky gave a three-hour interview to American podcaster Lex Friedman. The head of state, among other things, spoke about his vision of how to negotiate with the head of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin.
In addition, Zelensky mentioned the signatories of the Budapest Memorandum, who “didn’t give a damn about Ukraine,” and about Germany, which after the war admitted its guilt and paid reparations.
The head of state also spoke about the apology of Belarusian dictator Alexander Lukashenko at the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation, about the conditions under which Ukraine is ready for a ceasefire, and about his readiness to run for a second term. We have collected the main points of this big interview with Zelensky Friedman.
The network also drew attention to the incorrect map of military operations in Ukraine used in the video. It showed Crimea and four regions of Ukraine completely occupied, which is not true.
