Russia will provide natural gas for Transnistria as “humanitarian aid”. The leader of the unrecognized “republic” Vadim Krasnoselsky said this at a press conference, NewsMaker reported on Wednesday, January 15.

. He clarified that his trip to Moscow was “an initiative of both sides”.

. The issue of restoring gas supplies to the territory of Transnistria was discussed. Technical details have not yet been clarified, but Krasnoselsky noted that gas supply for the needs of residents of the region and the functioning of the economy will be resumed in the format of humanitarian and technical assistance,” the message says.

.

. There is no exact date for supply, but it is a fact that gas supply will begin. Let's see what the situation is next, we just have to wait a little. The transit route will be determined as a result of additional negotiations,"

.

. The contract with Gazprom has expired.

Because of this, gas supplies to Transnistria (left bank) through Moldova (right bank) were also stopped. The buyer of gas from Gazprom was its subsidiary Moldovagaz, which sent the entire volume of purchased fuel to Transnistria.

. And Transnistria was left without gas, heat and hot water. Rolling blackouts have begun in the region.

. Tiraspol hopes that Russian supplies will soon resume.
