The Australian government will send a new batch of drones to Ukraine and impose new personal sanctions against 90 Russian individuals and 40 organizations, said Prime Minister Anthony Albanese.

The sanctions will affect Russian ministers in charge of the energy, resources and industry sectors, as well as key defense players, including the weapons manufacturer Kalashnikov, the Tupolev aviation company and the submarine developer Admiralty Shipyards..

Albanese, who noted continued support for Ukraine, did not specify how many drones would be sent..

It is only known that their cost will be $ 33 million and that these are not combat drones, but they will help the Armed Forces of Ukraine conduct reconnaissance on the battlefield.

“This support will provide the Armed Forces with observation and visual study of the enemy,” the official said..

On February 1, Australia imposed additional sanctions against Iran for supplying drones to the Russian Federation and for cracking down on protests in the country..

In addition, France and Australia reached an agreement on the joint production of several thousand 155 mm shells for their subsequent transfer to Ukraine..
