The United States of America doubles the training of the Ukrainian armed forces at military bases in Germany. This is reported by The New York Times, citing anonymous sources..

The sources noted that US President Joe Biden had already approved the corresponding decision this week and from the beginning of 2023, about 600-800 people, which is about a battalion of military men, will be able to receive training from American instructors every month..

As of now, about 300 people are trained every month.. Since the beginning of the full-scale war, American instructors have trained about 3,100 Ukrainians, mostly in small groups, preparing to work with certain weapons systems, such as HIMARS.

The training program itself will also change: it is planned to train large groups so that they practice advanced combat tactics, including joint exercises, when infantry learns to act in coordination with gunners.

The interlocutors explain that the corresponding decision was made right now, because earlier the Ukrainian command was afraid to let more people go from the front line for training, but with the onset of winter, the intensity of hostilities may be lower.

The anonymous sources added that the expansion of the program is, to some extent, a resumption of the training programs that the United States and other allies conducted for the Ukrainian military from 2015 until the start of a full-scale war at the Yavoriv test site..
