The heads of government of Latvia, Estonia and Lithuania appealed to Germany, urging Berlin not to make concessions to the Russian Federation, even despite the increase in energy prices, as well as a potential gas shortage in winter. They urge Germany not to succumb to the Kremlin's energy blackmail, reports DW.

“The fact that some say that one should give in to a blackmailer is extremely dangerous,” said Latvian Prime Minister Krisjanis Karins.

Estonian Prime Minister Kaja Kallas urged Berlin to remain in solidarity with Ukraine, even despite rising energy prices.

“Inflation in our country is 25 percent. It's a military tax. We pay it in euros, Ukrainians pay it in human lives,” Kallas said..

Lithuanian Prime Minister Ingrida Simonyte criticized calls to open Nord Stream 2 due to the shutdown of Nord Stream 1. According to Shimonyte, even with real technical problems with Nord Stream 1, the Russian Federation can deliver its gas by land, in particular, through the Yamal gas pipeline..

“Does anyone really believe that Nord Stream 1 has technical problems?”?
