Russia is against the creation of a demilitarized zone around the Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant, said Ivan Nechaev, deputy director of the information and press department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

“Proposals on a demilitarized zone around the Zaporozhye NPP are unacceptable. Their implementation will make the station even more vulnerable,” Nechaev said at a briefing on August 18.

At the same time, Moscow expects that the mission of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) will arrive at the station " It is expected that it will be headed by the General Director of the Agency, Rafael Mariano Grossi.
