Erdogan still opposes Sweden's NATO membership and calls on Stockholm for 'concrete action'

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan still opposes Sweden joining NATO until Stockholm takes 'concrete action' over Ankara's concerns. Erdogan reaffirmed his position during a telephone conversation with Swedish Prime Minister Magdalena Andersson. It is reported by Radio Liberty.

Turkey's president accused Sweden and Finland of harboring members of the separatist militant Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) and supporters of U.S.-based cleric Fethullah Gulen, whom Turkey accuses of masterminding the 2016 coup attempt. The PKK has been designated a terrorist organization by Turkey, the US and the EU. Sweden did not extradite 30 people Turkey considers linked to terrorism, Erdogan says.
