Half of Russians do not believe that after the departure of foreign companies, life can worsen - opinion poll

In Russia, almost half of the citizens, or rather 49%, are sure that the departure of a significant number of foreign companies from the country will not affect their quality of life in any way.. Meduza writes about these results of a sociological survey by the Public Opinion Foundation..

Also among the respondents, 25% believe that the departure of Western companies “will not worsen very much” the quality of life, and 7% are sure that it will “greatly worsen”.

Young people aged 18-30 turned out to be the most pessimistic in this regard - in this category, 44% of Russians expect deterioration in one way or another.

In general, 57% of Russians know about the sanctions that Western countries have imposed against Russia because of the war in Ukraine, another 28% have heard something. For the first time, only 13% heard about sanctions, another 2% found it difficult to answer.

At the same time, 83% of respondents said that they do not refuse to buy foreign goods for political reasons..



Speaking about what products may be in short supply, 25% of Russians named fruits, 23% - tea or coffee, 11% - vegetables. At the same time, only 10% of respondents mentioned alcohol, while 32% are sure that there will be no food shortage at all..

The survey of the Public Opinion Foundation was conducted on March 11-13, 2022 among 1,500 respondents in 104 settlements in 53 regions of the Russian Federation. Polling error not specified.
