The head of the European Council, Charles Michel, said that the European Union has additional sanctions against Russia in reserve. In particular, for the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation into Ukraine, La Repubblica writes..

" We have additional sanctions against the Russian Federation in reserve,” Michel said..

However, the head of the European Council did not provide details on future measures..

" So far, we have taken the Kremlin regime by surprise and plan to continue to do so.. Vladimir Putin thought he was dividing Europeans. Before the war, he did a thorough job of expanding influence, betting on some leaders, and also trying to undermine trust between EU allies using hybrid methods.. After two weeks of war, we are united like never before, we have imposed powerful sanctions and are providing assistance to Ukraine,” Michel said..

The head of the European Council also added that the EU must confront Putin.

“If we want to limit the risks at nuclear power plants, help the civilian population and, finally, open the way to diplomacy, then we must confront those who sit in the Kremlin today. What will be the situation in Moscow in the future, no one knows,” added Michel.
