Russian President Vladimir Putin could defy NATO and attack the Baltic states if he is not stopped in Ukraine. Therefore, the EU must support Kyiv, said the Vice-President of the European Commission Valdis Dombrovskis in an interview with Politico.

“If we do not support Ukraine, the Russian Federation will not stop at Ukraine. Obviously, Putin is now in an aggressive military mood, and, unfortunately, there is a possibility that this aggression will continue in other countries,” Dombrovskis said..

He believes that Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia may become the next target of Russia..

“Just look at the activation of the aggressive rhetoric of Russia and the statements that the Russian Federation supports the interests of Belarus in access to the Baltic Sea, as well as the strengthening of anti-Baltic rhetoric, because the invasion of Ukraine also began with the strengthening of anti-Ukrainian rhetoric in the Russian Federation,” Dombrovskis added..
