Israeli President Reuven Rivlin instructs Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to form a coalition in the Knesset (Israeli parliament). On the eve, none of the candidates received the support of the required number of deputies to form a coalition.

Reported by Newsru. co. il.

Netanyahu received the support of 52 MPs, Yair Lapid was recommended by 45 MPs, Naftali Bennett - 7, another 16 - did not recommend anyone. In this case, the mandate would be transferred to the one who received the support of 61 deputies.

" If the law allowed it, I would hand over the decision to form a government to the Knesset..

But the law obliges me to entrust the formation of the government to one of the candidates, "

He added that he understands that there are serious disagreements in society as to whether the person against whom indictments are brought against can lead the government..

"

Recall that at the end of March, Israel held the fourth parliamentary elections in two years.. According to the results of the vote, Netanyahu did not receive a majority in the Knesset.

Note that last year, charges of bribery, fraud and breach of trust were brought against Netanyahu in Israel..
