The management of PGNiG believes that liquefied gas from the United States will be cheaper than Russian.

By the end of the year, the Polish oil and gas company PGNiG will sign two contracts for the purchase of liquefied gas from the US. This was announced today by the vice-president of the company Maciej Wozniak, according to Polish Radio.

According to the vice-president, the two contracts that will be finally signed this year are long-term..

Wozniak recalled that in early July, PGNiG signed letters of intent in Washington with two US terminals to sign long-term contracts for the purchase of liquefied gas (LNG). We are talking about the acquisition by the formula: we buy gas and we sail with him where we see fit, also to Poland. As a result of regasification, it will be almost 5.5 billion cubic meters of blue fuel..

The Vice-Chairman of PGNiG noted that this gas is much cheaper than the Russian.

"I am talking about the cost of transportation to Poland, that is, gas, transportation, unloading - this raw material will be cheaper than the one that Poland now offers to Gazprom, which is competitive in Russian gas," he said.

Recall that the term of the Polish company’s contract with the Russian Gazprom will expire in 2022, and Warsaw has already announced that it does not intend to renew it..
