For the first time in the world non-stop flight from Australia to the UK. The passenger airliner Boeing 787-9 of Qantas has covered a distance of 14,498 kilometers in 17 hours. Onboard there were 200 passengers and 16 crewmen. Rising from Perth airport on the west coast of Australia on Saturday, the board on Sunday morning landed in London's Heathrow.

Qantas CEO Alan Joyce says that his dream of a non-stop, once seemingly unrealizable, was realized thanks to the emergence of new passenger airliners Airbus 350-900 Ultra Long Range and Boeing 777-8.

By the way, the first flights from Australia to the UK took 4 days and included 7 transplants. Even the shortest flight from Australia to the UK with refueling in the countries of the Middle East took just over 20 hours.

Until now, the longest direct flight was the route between the capital of Qatar, Doha and New Zealand's Auckland. Its length is 14535 kilometers. The route is served by Qatar Airways - its Boeing 777-200.
