On the part of London, there has so far been no request for the application of Article 5 of the North Atlantic Treaty on the recognition of an attack on one ally by an attack on all 29 NATO states, but the alliance is already ready to provide practical support to Great Britain. "NATO does not want a new cold war, but there should be no doubt that the alliance will protect every member country from any threat," Stoltenberg said..
