Court of Paris extended the term of arrest to the artist Peter Pavlensky, who set fire to the Bank of France in October 2017. This is reported by RFI. As specified by Pavlensky's lawyer Dominik Beireter-Minkov, the Russian will remain in custody for another four months. Protection intends to appeal the decision of the court. The court session was held in closed session. Because of this, the artist-actionist earlier announced a dry hunger strike. Pavlensky and Shalygina were detained in Paris after the artist set fire to the entrance to the building of the Banque de France branch located on Place de la Bastille. According to local media, the spouse was also involved in the incident. Angry Frenchmen demanded to return Pavlenskiy back to Russia, but the artist and his wife were eventually arrested.

In October 2014, Pavlensky cut off his earlobe on the roof of the Serbsky Institute. In November 2013, he nailed the scrotum to the cobbles of Red Square. Pavlensky left Russia in January, along with his civil wife and two daughters. The reason for the emigration of the artist called suspicions of violent acts of a sexual nature.
