Scientists of the British University of Exeter have identified in the body of adolescents traces of bisphenol A - a chemical compound that is part of the plastic used in bottles of drinking water, as well as in food containers. The similarity of bisphenol with female sex hormone estrogen is the cause of disorders of the reproductive system and a number of oncological diseases. This is reported by The Telegraph. Experts analyzed urine samples in 94 adolescents, while 86 percent showed bisphenol A (DFP). Subjects also filled out questionnaires of eating behavior, which indicated which foods they used. Since the chemical compound contained in the plastic bags leaches into the food, the scientists asked the participants to refrain from using the plastic products packed in plastic. However, even in this case the content of bisphenol in urine did not decrease. According to scientists, a specially developed diet, aimed at reducing the concentration of DPT in the body, was not effective. Even those products that were not sold in plastic bags or containers had ingredients exposed to bisphenol during production.
