In China, about 120,000 Muslim Uighurs were sent to political educational camps in Kashgar city of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region (XUAR). This is reported by CNN with reference to Radio Free Asia. In one of the largest regions of the PRC, where the main religion is Islam, the authorities created a political camp in which to re-educate tens of thousands of Uighurs. There they sing revolutionary songs, study the ideas of Chairman Xi Jinping of China speak Chinese, which is not their native language. Local residents speak Uighur language. Such actions by the central government are strongly condemned by activists fighting for human rights and local residents. "Three to four people are taken from each yard, from each family," says Omer Kanat, chairman of the committee of the Uyghur World Congress. "In some villages there are no men in the streets, only women and children, all the men were taken to the camps". Activists claim that the actions of the local government loyal to Xi Jinping are illegal. The authorities not only arrest and imprison potentially dangerous Uighurs, but also put surveillance cameras everywhere, forcibly install GPS sensors on vehicles, collect DNA samples from residents aged 16 to 65.

Through the Xinjiang Uyghur administrative district, most of whose inhabitants profess Islam, radical Islamic Islamists from Pakistan and Afghanistan penetrate China. The Chinese government's measures are aimed at countering terrorism and controlling the Muslim population of the XUAR, whose main city Urumqi is closer to the Iraqi capital of Baghdad than to Beijing.
