The Chinese authorities have demanded from the American airline Delta to understand why on its website Taiwan and Tibet are listed as independent countries and to bring an immediate official apology. This is reported by The Straits Times. The Chinese Civil Aviation Administration posted a statement on its website. In it, she said that all foreign airlines should check the information available to users on their Internet resources and bring it "in strict compliance with Chinese laws, so that similar situations will not be repeated". Visitors to the Chinese airline website on Friday complained that they can choose in the "destination" column of Tibet and Taiwan as individual countries. The day before, the Shanghai authorities demanded that the network of Marriott hotels close their Chinese site and application and remove information that does not correspond to Beijing's official position. What exactly was published on the hotel's website is not reported.

Tibet was forcefully annexed to the PRC in the middle of the last century. Taiwan, according to Beijing's official position, is one of the Chinese provinces. De facto Taiwan is not controlled by Beijing, it is recognized as an independent state by 20 countries, in particular El Salvador, Guatemala, Haiti and Honduras.
