A small German settlement Alvin, 120 kilometers south of Berlin, was auctioned for 125,000 euros. The new owner got 12 buildings and garages, writes Daily Nation. Previously, Alvin was home to employees of a coal processing plant. After the fall of the Berlin Wall, the plant closed, and the young people left the village. Now there are only 20 elderly people left. Alvin was sold in 2000 for a symbolic sum, but the owners could not establish a normal life in the village. The village was again put up for auction. The initial price of the lot was 125 thousand euros.
