The world's largest aircraft Airlander 10 collapsed on the field in the English county of Bedfordshire. On this on Saturday, November 18, reports The Sun. According to preliminary information, the aircraft broke away from the mooring mast, after which it caught on branches of nearby trees and fell. An eyewitness told BBC News that before the fall Airlander 10 started to be blown away. As a result of the accident, it collapsed into two parts. A woman from the staff who was on board the aircraft was injured. She has cuts and bruises. Emergency workers and police officers work at the site of emergency. BBC News notes that less than a day ago the device made a successful test flight. Airlander 10 - a hybrid of an airplane, a helicopter and an airship - first took off in August 2016. The first flight was successful, but in the course of the second the ship hit a telegraph pole and fell.

A helium-filled 92-meter aircraft may be in the air for two weeks. The Airlander 10 uses less fuel than an airplane, and at the same time has a higher carrying capacity than an airship. It is able to climb to a height of 4.9 kilometers and travel at speeds up to 148 kilometers per hour. Initially Airlander 10 was developed for the US military, who planned to use it for reconnaissance purposes in Afghanistan.
