Humanoid robot has learned to do somersaults

Experts Boston Dynamics have taught the upright robot Atlas to perform a somersault. A video with a demonstration of his new abilities was published on YouTube channel of the company. On video the robot passes an obstacle course, jumping from platform to platform. At the end of the video Atlas successfully performs a flip back. Also experts have shown unsuccessful duplicates, where he falls after landing. Atlas is an anthropomorphic robot designed for cross country traffic. He walks on two legs, can use free hands to carry the load or to climb up vertical obstacles.
