The new document does not imply an embargo on oil supplies and the freezing of foreign assets of Kim Jong-Yin. The UN Security Council will not vote on a draft resolution on North Korea containing a provision on the ban on oil supplies. In the evening on Monday, September 11, members of the Security Council will discuss a new, less rigid version of the new sanctions against Pyongyang.
The amended draft resolution only provides for a limit on oil supplies to the DPRK to 500,000 barrels for three months from October 1 and to 2 million barrels for one year from January 1, 2018. In addition, the new document does not envisage the freezing of foreign assets of North Korean leader Kim Jong-un. Recall, the imposition of an embargo on the supply of oil to the DPRK and the blockage of foreign property Kim Jong-no demanded Washington after the recent missile tests of Pyongyang. Such a draft resolution could be blocked during the vote by China and Russia.
The UN Security Council has weakened the draft resolution on North Korea.
