South Korea with the consent of the United States will create a ballistic mega-rocket that will allow to hit the ground-based facilities of the DPRK. This is reported by the publication of the Korean Herald with reference to military sources. Ground-to-surface missiles must carry a projectile weighing up to two tons. During the talks held on Monday, September 4, South Korean President Mun Zhe Ying and US President Donald Trump agreed to lift the restrictions on the mass of warheads.

Earlier, as part of the agreement with the US, South Korea was prohibited from installing warheads weighing more than 500 kilograms for ballistic missiles with a range of 800 kilometers. North Korea on Sunday, September 3, announced a successful underground test of a hydrogen warhead for an ICBM. Seismological data from Japanese and Norwegian experts indicate that the explosion power was about 120 kilotons.
