Activist Ildar Dadin appealed the court's decision to pay him 2.2 million rubles in compensation for unlawful criminal prosecution. This was told to Interfax by his lawyer Alexey Liptser. Dadin intends to recover five million rubles from the state treasury for moral damage caused to him. Before this decision, according to the agency, was appealed by the Ministry of Finance, who acted as a defendant in court. The amount of compensation was announced by the Railway Court on May 31. Dadin became the first to be prosecuted for repeatedly participating in uncoordinated protest actions (Article 212. 1 of the Criminal Code). For this activist was sentenced to three years in prison in December 2015. A year later, Dudin complained of beatings in a penal colony, but verification of this information was not confirmed.

In February 2017, the case of Dadin was reviewed by the Supreme Court on the instructions of the Constitutional Court. At the same time, the prosecutor's office took the side of the defense, admitting that at the time of the initiation of the case, two decisions on administrative violations that were the basis for the prosecution did not come into effect.
