The Ministry of Natural Resources and Ecology suggested that a field discovered by Rosneft in the Eastern Arctic might turn out to be the largest on the shelf. On this Sunday, June 18, the head of the department Sergei Donskoy wrote in his Facebook. "I sincerely congratulate my colleagues! We can already talk about a significant inflow of oil, and therefore, the unique discovery, it is possible, the largest field on the shelf, "- said in a post. Donskoy noted that the Khatangsky licensed area used a method of horizontally directed drilling, in which experts come from the land. "We were sure that the biggest discoveries of this year will be on Khatanga! "He added..

Earlier on Sunday it became known that on the shelf in the Eastern Arctic, Rosneft drilled the well "Central Olginskaya-1", the core sampling from which showed a high oil saturation. The company noted that as the drilling continues, the potential of the well increases. The license to develop the Khatanga site was received by Rosneft in November 2015.
