Head coach of the Russian national team Stanislav Cherchesov will continue to work with the team regardless of the outcome at the Confederations Cup-2017. This was stated by the vice-premier and president of the Russian Football Union (RFU) Vitaly Mutko. His words lead the Championship. Com. "In my opinion, Cherchesov is a growing and in a good sense ambitious coach. Therefore, I believe that this is how you can say: he will continue to work in any case, prepare the team for the 2018 World Cup. You know my approach: before each tournament I extended the contract with the coach so that he would go out and not think what would happen to him, "said Mutko. On Friday, the Russian team under the leadership of Cherchesov played a draw (1: 1) with the Chile team in a friendly match.

Cherchesov led the Russian team in August 2016. Under his leadership, the team held nine friendly matches in which they won three wins, three draws and suffered three defeats. Together with the specialist, the national team is preparing for the nearest tournament - the Confederations Cup, which will be held from June 17 to July 2 in four Russian cities: Kazan, Sochi, St. Petersburg and Moscow.
