Macedonia's strong desire to join NATO, the readiness to rename the country for this, is due to the fact that there are still fresh memories of the bloody conflict of the end of the last century in this territory.

This opinion was expressed to the "Observer" by the coordinator of the "Information Resistance" group, People's Deputy of Ukraine ("Popular Front" faction) Dmitry Tymchuk.

Answering the question why the desire of the country to join the Alliance is so great that it is ready to rename, he explained: "According to Macedonia, we remember that there were questions with its name (Greece requires the renaming of Macedonia, since one of the regions of Greece is also called. - Red. One can understand the desire of the Balkan countries to ensure their security by any means, because we remember how long, how bloody was the war in this territory at the end of the last century ".

"These are the countries that have experienced on their own, what are modern conflicts of medium intensity and how hard they hit the population, the economy and so on," added the People's Deputy.

Thus, it is quite obvious to him that the countries that have "memories of those events are still fresh" are more than others concerned with ensuring their own stability and defense capability.

As the "Observer" wrote, sources of RIA Novosti reported that by the spring of 2018 Macedonia will join NATO, having changed its name for the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia.
