Ex-director of the FBI, James Komi, said that US President Donald Trump asked him to refuse an investigation.

This is stated in his speech, with which he must speak at a hearing in the Senate Intelligence Committee.

"On the morning of March 30, the president (Donald Trump. - Red. ) Phoned me to the FBI. He described the investigation into Russia as a "cloud" that hung over his ability to act in the interests of the country. He said that he has nothing to do with the Russian Federation, had nothing to do with prostitutes in Russia, and always thought he was being recorded when he was in Russia, "reads the Komi testimony.

According to him, Trump asked what can be done to "remove the cloud".

"I replied that we are investigating the matter as quickly as possible and that it will be of great benefit if we do not find anything and will do a good job," Komi added..

At the same time, he specified that the FBI did not investigate Trump himself.

According to Komi, the US president told him about his national security adviser, Michael Flynn.

The former head of the FBI claims that, according to Trump, "Flynn did nothing wrong when speaking with the Russians, but he had to get rid of him because he misled the vice president (Michael Pence)".

In addition, the US president called Flynn "a good guy" and expressed the hope that the FBI will stop the investigation against the ex-adviser.

Komi also said that the document that appeared in the media about the alleged spying of Russian special services behind Trump during his visit to Moscow was "untested," but he still warned the president.

Recall, Flynn resigned in February 2017 after accusations that he did not fully disclose the content of his conversations with the Russian ambassador, in particular for sanctions against the Russian Federation. The media claim that the head of the White House allegedly asked former FBI director James Komi to stop the investigation against Flynn.

Let us also note that on May 9, US President Donald Trump unexpectedly fired the head of the FBI, James Komi, who led the investigation into possible ties between the US administration and Russia. The head of the White House explained his decision by the inability of the Komi "to effectively manage" the Bureau.

As reported by the "Observer", in the US were going to launch the process of impeachment of Trumpu in connection with the resignation of the Komi.
