In the United Nations (UN) elected non-permanent members of the UN Security Council, which will participate in meetings in 2018-2019: Ukraine from January 1 next year will be replaced by Poland.

This was reported by the press service of the mission of Ukraine to the United Nations in a microblog on Twitter.

"The State of Kuwait, the Republic of Cote d'Ivoire, the Republic of Equatorial Guinea, the Republic of Poland and the Republic of Peru are elected as non-permanent members of the UN Security Council for 2018-2019," the statement said..

In 2018, the Netherlands was also elected to the UN Security Council.



It is noted that the place of Ukraine in the Security Council from January 1, 2018 will occupy Poland.

Recall, October 15, 2015, Ukraine was elected a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council for 2016-2017. Since January 1, 2016, Ukraine has officially launched its duties as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council.
