In the US, the latest air defense system successfully intercepted a ballistic missile on Tuesday, May 30.
This is reported by the US Missile Defense Agency, Ukrinform reports..
"The anti-missile defense agency in cooperation with the 30th aerospace wing of the US Air Force, as well as the Common Functional Component of the Combined Missile Defense Command and the US Northern Command, successfully intercepted the target as an intercontinental ballistic missile," the document says.
It is noted that the launch of the interceptor was carried out from a surface installation of the Reagan Test Center (on the Marshall Islands) on the middle part of the flight trajectory of a ballistic missile.
As the Observer reported earlier, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said earlier that his country's Armed Forces had received a number of new types of weapons that would support "strategic parity" with NATO.
