Russia or the Putin regime?

I look from my Kiev faraway to a grandiose dispute that unfolded in Russian Facebook around the story of a little boy who was "screwed up" by the cops for reciting the monologue of Hamlet on Arbat, and I think: "Lord, what is this with people being done?" !!.

They write that the father of the boy is strange, and the woman who was behind the child to intercede is somehow incomprehensible - whether she is a stepmother, whether she is a stepmother, or his father's wife, or a mistress, and in general during a fight With the cops for some reason a neighbor called herself. Suspicious!.

They ask why the bag was lying on the sidewalk next to the boy, whether he was begging, and whether he was screaming too sharply, and whether the whole scene was staging, and whether it was better to deal with a woman at all, because she also cursed and obscured Police officers had, and allegedly even chased, a policeman. It's doubly suspicious!.

By the way, I will not be surprised that everything will end with another show trial and a severe sentence to a young woman.

It seems that respected, intelligent, intelligent, personally known to me, nice people in a seemingly obvious situation, voluntarily behave like real trolls, whose main task is, as is known, to "zamylit" the topic, to translate the conversation into secondary and Third-rate matters, withdraw the dispute from the heart of the matter.

And the point is that the case is absolutely clear and obvious - the brutal massacre of completely insolent and disguised "guardians of order" over an innocent boy.

If this happened in any capital of the world, the police would be immediately dismissed with disgrace, and then they would go to court. And then another half-life would work to pay fines for the moral damage caused to the child and his family.

And do not have to trump statistics - they say, in the UK last year, arrested so many minors, and in the Netherlands - so many.

It is important not how much, but how.

What's important is what we see on video. I personally see people who are used to absolute impunity.

To the fact that they will always get away with it. To the fact that someone is stronger - he is right. That high authorities in case of what will protect.

Whoever does not agree with me, let him remember the Magnitsky case - the state machine took the side of the criminals in uniform to protect them, only according to the strict rule: "they are ours, we do not turn in ours".

Friends, you probably forgot - or did not understand at all, that the "revolution of dignity" in Ukraine began because during the night from 29th to 30th November 2013 cops beat the children in the blood - students and high school students who protested Against the refusal of the now fugitive ex-President Yanukovych to sign an association agreement and a free trade zone with the European Union?.

The next day, hundreds of thousands of adults from Kiev, without a word, went out into the street - an unsigned agreement with the EU was no longer associated with - and no one discussed how old these boys and girls were, whether their parents allowed them on duty at night on Maydan, whether they had The right to prevent the city authorities from setting up a traditional New Year tree in the central square of Kiev, what slogans they had, and, in general, was not this all a provocation, deliberately started by cunning politicians who fought for power.

I personally heard from my Kiev acquaintances, including those who were ready to put up with Yanukovych before: we are going to the Maydan, because the government that raised a hand on our children must leave.

People took to the streets "for our and your children" and stood there until they achieved their goal - until the authorities left.

I do not know why, as some respected facebook bloggers write, the subconsciousness of Russians is ruled by the fear, almost rooted in their genes, that was implanted there after decades of bloody repression, when the whole country was divided into shot, shot, and those who were waiting in horror when They will be followed to shoot them too - and the genetic memory of Ukrainians, according to which the Soviet Union's repressions rally was almost three times as powerful, is free from this fear, and they "dare to enter the square at that appointed hour".

I can guess - but this is a separate topic.

But from a lot of publications about the unfortunate boy in Russian Facebook, I personally have a strong feeling that the authors wrote them - willingly or unwittingly - with only one purpose: to find an excuse. Because in the subconscious, the authors sit, like a splinter, the painful thought that we are not capable of open protest. In large and small. In the private and general.

To stand up for the child, like the one, perhaps overly emotional and not restrained in the expressions of a young woman, at the risk of going to the station, to trial and to places not so remote. Openly adhere to the active opposition, which is fraught with almost the worst consequences.

Not so long ago I happened to participate in one international conference, where various scenarios of the future of Russia were discussed.

At some point, representatives of the Russian opposition who were present at the conference - extremely worthy young people, I personally infinitely nice - began to talk with enthusiasm about what I myself often say: do not equate Russia with the ruling regime.

In the report, at one point, one of the foreign participants in the conference - a man with an irreproachable political "credit history", certainly deeply sympathetic to the Russian oppositionists - nevertheless blew up the atmosphere of approval, saying something like this:.

"And let's pretend that we are in 1939?.

And someone begins to say: it is not necessary to equate the German people and their rulers who unleashed a world war?.

Is it not better to face the truth and say that Russia is sick, as then - Germany? ".

At the risk of incurring the righteous anger of friends and enemies, I will say that, on reflection, I am ready to agree with the speaker, even if in his words there is a share of polemic exaggeration.

Even one hundred thousand Muscovites who go to an opposition rally or procession is a drop in the bucket, less than one percent of the residents of the Russian capital. Most are on the other side, alas!.

And then again I want to quote the famous aphorism of Sergei Dovlatov about four million denunciations - more accurately, rephrase:.

"We endlessly abuse Putin, and, of course, for the cause. And yet I want to ask - who voted for him three times in the elections? ".

And the account there was not for four million - there was a much larger figure.

At the presidential election in 2012, Putin voted for 45.5 million Russian voters. Even if we assume that half of these votes were obtained as a result of dishonest counting of ballots - although such scales of fraud were hardly possible, although the motives for voting for Putin in different categories - still it turns out that at least twenty-odd millions of Russian citizens are responsible for that , What is happening in the country.

And I do not put myself outside the brackets.

I personally never voted for Putin. I never voted for "United Russia".

Putin did not like me from the first day - he never inspired me with sympathy, trust, respect.

All these years I was a convinced critic of his domestic and foreign policy - evidence of this, all my publications, all my performances over the past 17-odd years.

I used to always think: what kind of complaints can there be for me after this? !!.

And yet, I think now, I am also partly responsible. After all, instead of fighting, perhaps, to quit journalism and engage in opposition political activities, like some of my colleagues, I left Russia, preferred to continue a successful television career in neighboring Ukraine, where it was freer, more comfortable and safer - although safety and comfort Were, as a result, illusory. I admit - I was weak.

Hence, I am also responsible for what happened to the little boy from Arbat.

For what happened to the film director Alexei Uchitel, who - what a bad anecdote this would seem - is being pursued for not yet released on the screen a film about the romance of ballerina Matilda Kshesinskaya with the future emperor Nicholas II.

Although it was not Alexey Uchitel who triumphed: "Krymnasch!" - along with numerous fellow citizens, rejoicing that the country was robbed, robbed the weakened neighbor?.

Here "Krymnas" to him and came - almost literally - in the person of the former Crimean Chief Prosecutor Poklonskaya.

And did not Krymnasch come to another director, Kirill Serebrennikov, even if he did not support the annexation of the Crimea? But he led a friendship with one of the main architects of Putin's policy towards Ukraine Vladislav Surkov and even put in the theater Oleg Tabakov - another note pro-Putin - a play on the Surkov opus "Okolonolya". That this friendship to him and flew a boomerang - in contrast to the distant Soviet times, in today's Russia can not be both a bit of an oppositionist and a slightly loyalist.

And Chulpan Khamatova, now signing along with Tabakov and other "masters of culture" petition to the highest name in defense of Serebrennikov, did she not publicly say that she chooses North Korea between the revolution and North Korea?.

You choose - so get it!.

In North Korea, petitions are used, as they say, for their intended purpose - in the auxiliar place.

By the way, does anyone remember that for the last seventeen years, one of the many appeals of "masters of culture", leaders of public opinion and other representatives of anxious citizens to the Evergreen, at least once, really worked, at least one open letter in defense of someone or with Protest against anything?.

Otozh, as they say in Kiev.

And what should I do? - you ask me.

I do not know. But I know for sure:

it is not merciful to ask mercy. Avoid Pushkin's temptation: "Spit, kiss the villain's hand!".

Remember the great commandment of political prisoners: "Do not believe, do not be afraid, do not ask". We in fact all for a long time - политзэки. Even if some of us have not reached it yet.
