US President Donald Trump's administration plans to restart negotiations with the government of the Russian Federation on the resolution of the armed conflict in the Donbass.

According to the American newspaper, the initiative is overseen by US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson, who allegedly already discussed this issue with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.

In particular, Tillerson intends to restart the type of peace negotiations, which in 2016 was conducted by the administration of Barack Obama. At the same time, the State Department hopes that new circumstances and diplomats will give the best result.
