President of the United States of America Donald Trump intends to withdraw from the Paris Agreement on Climate.

This was reported by three sources familiar with the situation, reports "Rain" with reference to Axios.

So, the American leader announced his plans to many people, including the head of the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Scott Priutt. Trump publicly stated on several occasions that he had not yet determined his position on this issue. Head of the Department of Strategic Communications of the White House Hope Hicks noted that Trump will announce his decision within the next week.

According to sources of the publication, the head of the EPA Scott Priutt asked his assistants to lobbied the US withdrawal from the Paris agreement on climate in public. At the same time Trump asked Prutta not to officially announce this, because the president wants to do it himself.

Journalists also led three options for the US withdrawal from the Paris Agreement.

First of all, President Trump can start the formal procedure for withdrawing from the agreement, which is spelled out in the relevant article. However, it states that no country can withdraw from the agreement earlier than three years after its entry into force. Since it happened in November 2016, the US withdrawal from the agreement can occur no earlier than 2020. Secondly, Trump can point to the need for hearings on an agreement in the Senate. According to sources, the hearing will end with the revocation of the agreement. The third option, the most radical one, is that the United States can withdraw from the United Nations framework convention on climate change, which underlies the Paris agreement. However, this will jeopardize all the work of American specialists in this field.

Recall that the withdrawal from the Paris agreement on climate was one of Trump's election promises. To the very theme of the fight against climate change, the US president considers the "scam", invented to curb the growth of industry.

As reported by the "Observer", earlier Trump said that next week (from May 29. - Red. ) Will be determined with the further participation of his country in the Paris Climate Agreement.
