The expulsion from Russia of the Russian consul general and an employee of the consulate general in Narva will not remain without an "adequate response" from Russia.

This was stated in the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation.

"We regard this step of Tallinn as provocative and unreasonable. Of course, he will not remain without an adequate response.

The openly hostile action undertaken by the Estonian authorities will undoubtedly further complicate bilateral relations, already, in fact, driven by Tallinn into a dead end, "the message says..

Moscow believes that "somebody wanted to aggravate the situation on the borders with Russia" and justify the "confrontational agenda of deterring the country".

As reported by the "Observer", Estonia decided to deliver a note to the Consul General of Russia in Narva Dmitry Kazennov and Consul Sergei Surgayev.
