Protests want to extinguish repression

This has become a tradition: if the Kremlin has conceived something particularly ugly, as an advanced detachment that should reveal the potential of society to resist, send the so-called people's choices. Examples do not go far: the laws of Yarovaya, which are aimed at limiting the ability of Russians to use the Internet to obtain objective information, the "law of scoundrels", doomed to painful death dozens of children that Americans could adopt and cure, laws on "undesirable organizations" And "foreign agents," which effectively closed the financing and support of any public activities that the Kremlin does not like, "Alexander Goltz writes to EZhA.

And now the authorities seriously decided to take up those who deal with Russian corruption. Deputy Yevgeny Fedorov, who heads the organization, whose members specialize in hooliganism approved by the authorities, said that he intends to declare Transparency International organization "undesirable". The vice-speaker of the State Duma, Vladimir Vasiliev, suspected this organization of trying to blackmail people's deputies and exert political pressure on them. Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Security and Counteracting Corruption Vasily Piskarev initiates a Transparency check.

Scandal began a specialist in the sculpture and the sculpture and the observance of morality in the cinema, and concurrently the head of the State Duma commission to monitor the reliability of information on the incomes and property of deputies Natalia Poklonskaya. Asked if she is ready to consider the evidence and arguments about the facts of corruption presented by FBK Navalny and Transparency International, she said that she was more willing to deal with these organizations themselves: "... It would be advisable to check them for corruption. Because, as they say, on the thief and the hat burns. Maybe, that's why they are shouting loudest. These organizations do not personally interfere with me, they, rather, judging by the latest events, can threaten the peace and prosperity of the country as a whole. You can not disturb society, you can not play and use a situation - even corruption - for your unclean goals ".

Ilya Shumanov, Deputy Head of Transparency International, reacted to this (for my taste, not very carefully) on his Facebook page: "I wanted to rest a little, and instead I would have to file an investigation into Madame ex-prosecutor". This also aroused indignation of the Duma members, who promised to close the most serious public organization, which aims to combat corruption. The Duma members at the same time ignored the extremely sensitive response of Transparency vice-president Elena Panfilova, who actually caught the main Duma anti-corruption party (in the past, the prosecutor) in deep legal illiteracy: "According to the federal law of the Russian Federation on combating corruption, corruption is an unlawful action of an official who uses these Their official powers for personal purposes. A non-profit organization, neither fully nor individually, is an official. That is, we can be suspected of anything, but it's exactly corruption as taking bribes to us is quite difficult to apply ".

In the same spirit, by the way, the Anti-Corruption Fund. "Poklonskaya probably does not know that FBK is regularly checked by law enforcement agencies and various other organizations," said Lyubov Sobol, head of the FBK legal department, on the air of the radio station Ekho Moskvy,. - We conduct searches, and all our documentation was repeatedly seized. We provide all necessary reporting required by the Ministry of Justice. Our activities are as transparent as the activity of an organization in Russia can be transparent at all ".

Of course, these reasonable arguments are of no interest to the authorities. The Kremlin, it seems, does not know at all what to do with the need to fight corruption. This phenomenon is ineradicable under the existing system of power. An authoritarian regime based on bureaucracy can function only in circumstances where bribes are a necessary "lubrication of the state apparatus". On the other hand, corruption multiplied by an insolent demonstration of luxury and lack of control on the part of "servants of the people" is increasingly irritating the subordinate population. Demonstrations initiated by Alexei Navalny, this was clearly demonstrated. The authorities would like to extinguish a potential protest with the help of selective repressions: planting governors and ministers, who for whatever reason fell out of love with Putin. But first one should get rid of those who represent an alternative approach, who consistently proves: bribery is a necessary and inevitable element of the existing regime. These organizations, first of all FBK and Transparency, should be banned. To do this, any pretext is good, just two lines in Facebook.

Russian bosses think: if you break a mirror, no one will see their pitchers' snouts.
