Teachers of Samara schools and secondary special educational institutions received recommendations from the regional Ministry of Education "on strengthening anti-extremist and patriotic agitation among students". The document was read by Novaya Gazeta. In particular, the newspaper writes, teachers were asked to tell the students about the wrecking activities of Alexei Navalny, arguing that the opposition is criminal and destroys the foundations of the state. In addition, as indicated in the recommendations, "it is especially important to prevent the participation of young people in the opposition rally on June 12". Teachers should draw the attention of students to the fact that protest activity is temporary, and also to discuss with students forms of counteraction to extremism. According to the newspaper, district plenipotentiaries were ordered to attend schools, colleges, technical schools and warn the pedagogical staff about the responsibility in case they detain their students on June 12. High school students warn that those who come to the action will not only have problems with admission to higher education institutions, but also with parents who will have trouble in the service, especially if they work in the budgetary sphere. Earlier, Navalny urged residents of the country in their cities to take an anti-corruption action on June 12 - the Day of Russia. Protest action in Samara has not yet been agreed by the local authorities, notes Novaya Gazeta. In May, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree on the specifics of the use of enhanced security measures in the period of holding in Russia, in particular, the Confederations Cup 2017. The special regime, which is introduced from June 1 to July 12, concerns those subjects of the Russian Federation where the objects intended for the competition are located (matches will be held in Moscow, Sochi, Kazan and St. Petersburg). According to the document, during this period rallies, processions and demonstrations that are not related to sports events, there must be conducted with the permission of local authorities in agreement with the Ministry of Internal Affairs and "security agencies". Under the law "On Education", pedagogical workers are prohibited from engaging in political agitation, coercion of students to accept political, religious or other beliefs or to renounce them.
