Chinese President Xi Jinping, during a meeting with US President Donald Trump in April, asked Washington to postpone its plans for the DPRK for a hundred days.

Asahi Shimbun was told about this in the USA and Japan.

The Chinese leader promised his American counterpart over this period to influence North Korea and achieve a change in its policy.

In turn, Trump offered China, which accounts for about 90% of DPRK's foreign trade, to strengthen economic sanctions.

"He noted that if China does not cooperate, it will consider the introduction of the US new sanctions, under which will fall several Chinese companies, including major financial institutions involved in North Korea," - said the interlocutor of the media.

He added that "the Chinese side has demonstrated its intention to work hard on the North Korean issue in these 100 days".

Trump and Xi Jinping also agreed to block new nuclear tests and launches of intercontinental ballistic missiles by Pyongyang.

In the case of "serious provocation" by North Korea, the US and China agreed to impose sanctions that affect the export of oil and money transfers.

As reported by the "Observer", on April 25 an American submarine with USS Michigan guided missiles arrived in South Korea.
