The terrorists of the "Islamic state" (IG, the organization is banned in a number of countries, including Russia) are testing toxic substances on people before using them in combat operations. On this Sunday, May 21, reports The Independent with reference to the newspaper The Times. As the newspaper writes, members of the group use prisoners to test deadly chemicals. Poisonous compounds are released from pesticides and mixed with food and water, which are then obtained by prisoners. Information about the experiments conducted was found in a hiding place at the University of Mosul after the Iraqi forces liberated the city from terrorists. The documents described the results of the tests, as well as recipes for the preparation of poisons. Thus, one of the prisoners was poisoned with thallium sulfate. He died within ten days, suffering from fever, nausea, and cerebral edema. Another prisoner was injected with nicotine and derivative compounds.
Experts fear that the IG can try to poison food products in Western countries, which can lead to numerous victims. In their opinion, extremists continue to test pesticides on people in Rakka (Syria). In February 2017, the Pentagon reported that in the territory of the University of Mosul, militants produced poisonous gas mustard. According to US Air Force Colonel John Dorrian, there was one of the laboratories of terrorists for the production of chemical weapons.
