Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan once again led the Justice and Development Party (AKP).

Anadolu writes about this.

It is noted that Erdogan regained a key post after a break of 998 days.

Such a decision was made at the Third Extraordinary Congress of the ruling party in Ankara.

Erdogan was supported by 1414 delegates of the congress.

"The coming months will be a period of leap in many spheres, including in the economic sphere and in the field of combating terrorism," the Turkish president said during his speech after being elected head of the party.

He added that serving the people is a big part for him and the ruling party as a whole.

Recall that Erdogan left the ranks of the ruling party on August 27, 2014 - shortly after his election to the presidency, as required by the Constitution.

As reported by the "Observer", the Supreme Electoral Commission of Turkey refused to annul the results of the referendum, which was held on April 16, 2017.
