Before the Americans hit the Syrian troops there was a clear puncture, connected with the fact that the Assad troops launched an attack not just on the opposition, but on the opposition cooperating with the coalition forces. This is a new moment, writes Konstantin Borovoi for Apostrophe. - Moscow avoids such conflicts. In this case, everything was done according to the protocol - the Asad forces were warned, and their destruction began after they did not follow the instructions of the coalition forces.
Such actions by Bashar Assad forces can intensify the differences between Moscow and Washington over the Syrian issue. Iranians, Hezbollah, Asadov - provoking factors in the conditions of war. Because they have their own goals, objectives, interests. They have little agreement with Moscow. Until they have enough weapons and support, they try to coordinate, and then act independently. Just like IGIL, which certainly contributes to both Assad and Moscow, as long as it benefits him. When this is unprofitable, it becomes an independent little-controlled force. Now there is no doubt that the interaction of IGIL with other terrorist organizations in Moscow is very tight, including through its representatives. Actually, IGIL is headed by a former officer of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the USSR. It is clear that he was, and a KGB officer, and interacted with other special services, in particular the GRU.
New US sanctions may have serious consequences, although they are not as radical as those that were applied earlier to Iran. Formally, all Russian military enterprises fall under the sanctions. After all, they are more or less cooperating with the Assad regime.
But Americans also try to avoid such diplomatic conflicts. This is more like a shot in the air, warning Russian enterprises that cooperation with Assad is prohibited. To date, not only the components but serious weapons have been openly supplied: S-300, S-400, tanks, guns. While cooperation with the regime of Assad and Iran is carried out by Moscow openly.
